Desde Atenas partimos hacia Santorini, la primera escala. Santorini es una de las islas más bonitas que conocimos. Casas blancas, techos y detalles azules. Santorini es un volcán que aún está activo, mientras estás allí realmente estás de pie sobre el volcán.
Caminamos por callecitas llenas de tiendas donde se pueden comprar los típicos souvenirs. También hay mucha artesanía, cerámica y joyería con piedras volcánicas.
From Athens to Santorini, the first stop. Santorini is one of the most beautiful islands we visit. White houses, blue roofs and accents. Santorini is a volcano still active, while you're there you're really standing on the volcano!
We walked through streets full of shops where you can buy the typical souvenirs. There is lots of crafts, ceramics and jewelry with volcanic stones.
El día no podía ser más soleado y perfecto. Como una tarde de verano...
Fira, la capital de Santorini, está llena de tienditas, bares y mucha gente. Nuestra excursión nos dejó arriba en el pueblo, y luego cada uno tiene que bajar al barco por su cuenta bien sea en funicular, burro o a pie... Mi familia decidió bajar en funicular, esta es sin duda la forma más rápida de llegar al puerto, donde luego otro barquito te lleva hasta el crucero.
Mi chico y yo decidimos disfrutar un poco más de Santorini y nos quedamos tomando una cerveza local: Mythos. Desde la terraza teníamos una vista increíble de Santorini.
Después bajamos caminando hasta el puerto, son unos 30 minutos sin prisa pero sin pausa y por el camino te vas encontrando los burritos que suben y bajan sin parar...

Fira, the capital of Santorini, is full of small shops, bars and many people. Our tour left us up in the village, and then you have to go back to the cruise on your own. It can be by cable car, donkey or walking ... My family decided to go down by cable car, this is definitely the fastest way to reach the port, from which a board takes you to the cruise.
My boyfriend and I decided to enjoy a little more of Santorini and we were drinking a local beer: Mythos. From the balcony we had an amazing view of Santorini.
We walked down to the port for about 30 minutes and along the way you'll find the donkeys up and down...
La segunda escala es Marmaris. Dejas el crucero y te subes en un barco tradicional turco que te lleva por la costa. Haces una parada rápida para comprar algún souvenir o tomar algo. Yo me he comprado unos platos pintados a mano (para otro post les haré foto :)
Es en este punto cuando comienza lo del regateo... yo no soy muy buena para esto, menos mal que a mi padre se le dan bien estas cosas! jaja... Los guías nos dijeron que en Turquía es casi una tradición. Al parecer el primer precio que te dan es más elevado de lo que vale realmente el artículo.
En este paseo conocimos la Costa Turquesa y nos bañamos en el Mar Egeo... que por cierto, es todo un reto porque el agua está helada! Algunos llegaron a la escalera y se devolvieron al barco de nuevo. Cosa que entiendo perfectamente pues yo también estuve un buen rato allí decidiéndome jeje.. pero pensé: ¿cuándo tendré de nuevo la oportunidad de bañarme en estas aguas? :) ¡Acto seguido me lancé sin pensarlo! Tuve que nadar un buen rato para llegar a ese punto en el cual ya el agua "parece" no estar tan fría...
The second stop is Marmaris. You leave the cruise to navigate in a traditional Turkish boat that takes you along the coast. The boat made a quikly stop to buy some souvenirs or drinks. I've bought some hand painted plates (for another post I will take a photo :)
At this point haggling starts... I'm not very good in that but my father does! haha! The guides told us that in Turkey is almost a tradition. It seems that always the first price you get is higher than the real price.
On this tour we met the Turquoise Coast and take a bathe in the Aegean Sea ... which is a challenge because the water is super cold! Some people returned to the boat again. Which I completely understand because I was also a lot of time there deciding... but I thought: When I am going to have again the opportunity to swim in these waters? :) Then I jumped without thinking! I had to swim faster for a while to get that point where water "seems" to be not so cold ...
La tercera escala es Izmir, donde conocimos la antigua Ciudad de Éfeso. En el recorrido vamos viendo monumentos, símbolos en griego antiguo e historia en cada rincón. Todo está muy bien conservado, no es dificil imaginarse esta increíble ciudad mucho tiempo atrás en pleno funcionamiento...
Aquí pudimos ver la Biblioteca de Celso, los baños termales y el Gran Teatro.
The third scale is Izmir, where we met the ancient City of Ephesus. On the way we see monuments, symbols in ancient Greek and history at every corner. Everything is very well preserved, it is not hard to imagine this amazing city long time ago fully operational ...
Here we saw the Library of Celsus, the Thermal Baths and the Grand Theatre.
Siguiente parada: Estambul. Las excursiones guiadas son opcionales, se puede escoger alguna de las que te proponen en el barco, hacer el paseo por tu cuenta o quedarte a bordo. Otros días muchas personas se quedaron, pero este día el barco se quedó casi vacío.
Visitamos la Mezquita Azul, la Basílica de Santa Sofia y el palacio de Topkapi, residencia oficial de los sultanes otomanos. Es increíble toda la riqueza que vemos: cunas, cetros, tocados, jarras y utensilios de oro; uno de los diamantes más grandes del mundo, cofres llenos de joyas y galerías de armas y trajes...
Next stop: Istanbul. Guided tours are optional, you can choose some of which they propose in the cruise, visit the city for your own or stay on board. And such other days many people stayed in the cruise, but this day everyone left the boat.
We visited the Blue Mosque, the Basilica of St. Sophia and the Topkapi Palace, the official residence of the Ottoman Sultans. It's amazing all the wealth we see: cribs, scepters, headgear, cups and utensils made of gold, one of the world's largest diamonds, jewelry chests, arms and suits galleries ...
Algo que también me llamó la atención de Estambul fueron sus árboles grandes e imponentes. Y creo que no fui la única pues aunque nuestra guía nos hablaba de la historia de Estambul nadie podía quitarle el ojo a ese maravilloso árbol gigante que estaba al lado de nosotros. Y como ese vi muchos durante toda esta visita, árboles que también parecen contar su propia historia...
Something that caught my attention were the big and large trees, they are trully amazing. And I think I was not the only one that noticed this because while our guide was taking about the history of Istanbul no one could take the eye off to that wonderful giant tree that was right next to us. And like that tree I saw many during this visit. Trees also seem to tell their own story...
También conocimos el Gran Bazar de Estambul, uno de los más grandes y antiguos del mundo. Nuestra guía nos dijo que es un sitio que sólo frecuentan los turistas, no es un sitio al que las personas de la ciudad suelan ir a comprar. Allí se pueden adquirir un montón de cosas, como lamparitas típicas, artículos de cuero, artesanía en cobre, alfombras, bolsos, joyería...
We also visit the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, one of the largest and oldest in the world. There you can buy a lot of things, like typical lamps, leather goods, copper handicrafts, carpets, bags, jewelry ...
Penúltima parada: Mykonos. ¡Otra fiesta para los ojos! Sus playas son hermosas, con agua cristalina y paisajes que dejan sin aliento... ¡Me encantaron los molinos!
Nextstop: Mykonos. Another delight for the eyes! The beaches are beautiful, with crystal clear water and breathtaking landscapes... Loved the mills!
En esta excursión conocimos las playas Ag Loannis y Kalafatis, así como el pueblo de Ano Mera. Aquí también nos quedamos un rato disfrutando de una cerveza en una terracita...

Las callecitas parecen laberintos blancos pero al final todas parecen llegar al puerto. ¡Creo que es imposible perderse!
The streets seem white mazes but eventually they all seem to reach the port. I think it's impossible to get lost!
Y la última parada es Atenas, que es donde ha comenzado el crucero y donde te despides de él...
And the last stop is Athens, where the cruise started and where you say goodbye...
Como bonus especial, una vez de vuelta a España he podido conocer junto a mis padres la ciudad de Toledo, que realmente me dejó maravillada por su historia, leyendas y culturas. Es una ciudad mágica, la comida muy buena, la gente muy amable y sus mazapanes artesanales deliciosos!
As a special bonus, once we came back to Spain I have met with my parents the city of Toledo, which really left me amazed by its history, legends and cultures. It is a magical city, nice food, very friendly people and delicious handmade marzipan!
¡Estos días han sido inolvidables para mi! Me han servido para desconectar, ya que durante el crucero ni siquiera tuve operativo mi movil, ni internet...
¡Me parece haber estado fuera más de 15 días! Ya tengo una semana trabajando de nuevo en el kandy taller, con muchos proyectos e ilusión para esta nueva etapa...
These days have been memorable for me! I disconnected a lot, because during the cruise did not even have my phone operational, no internet ... Even now I think and I have been out for more than 15 days! Now I have a week working again in the kandy studio, with many projects and enthusiasm for this new stage ...
